The legacy media is now reporting that Trump is currently at “war” with diversity programs in America. By pushing this narrative—and only telling half of the story—the media knows that many people will interpret their reports to mean that Trump is against “diversity,” or that Trump is against diversity in the workplace.
The mainstream media also knows that many of their followers will interpret their one-sided news reporting to mean that Trump—and Republicans—are somehow against people of color in the workplace. Of course, that’s not true in any way.
What exactly is Trump doing with diversity programs? Trump is indeed going after (DEI) policies, and in some instances, looking to overturn decades-old policies that were aimed at empowering minority groups. Conservative groups are currently pursuing court cases challenging policies that they view as unlawfully promoting racial preference, and the Trump administration can throw its weight behind some of those actions. Trump has a 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
The fight appears to be about the interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Liberals believe the 14th Amendment is a progressive statement that empowers the government to not only protect minorities, but to lift them up. The Trump administration, as well as black conservative Supreme Court justice members, seem to be pushing for a “colorblind Constitution,” where everyone is treated equally and given the same treatment under the Constitution.
What the liberal media isn’t telling their followers is that Conservatives, and many others, have learned that (DEI) practices are very unfair and can be very harmful—and they’re being used to discriminate based on race, gender, and many other factors!
