President Trump said negotiations to end the war in Ukraine will start “immediately” after holding a “lengthy and highly productive” call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.

Trump has been focused on the Ukraine war since it began and has looked for ways to resolve the conflict even before his inauguration last month. Recently, Trump has made it very clear; he wants to bring the Ukraine conflict to a swift end.

“We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelensky, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump then spoke with Ukraine president Zelensky shortly after his call with President Putin. The Ukrainian President said the call was a “good and detailed discussion.”

Trump is keeping his campaign promises and taking the necessary steps to stop a war “that would not have happened if I were President,” Trump wrote.

It appears both President Putin and President Zelensky are now willing to look for ways to negotiate for peace to end the Ukraine war!
