The White House said Tuesday that its officials “will determine” which news outlets can regularly cover President Trump. Which is a big transition from the way news outlets have covered past administrations.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the changes would rotate the traditional outlets and include streaming services. Leavitt said the move would help to restore “access back to the American people.”

Of course, some “media experts” had concerns about the new changes.

“It is essential in a democracy for the public to have access to news about their government from an independent, free press,” top editors of The Associated Press, Bloomberg News and Reuters said in a statement. “We believe that any steps by the government to limit the number of wire services with access to the President threatens that principle.”

It’s unclear which mainstream legacy news outlets will be excluded or how the rotations will work, but one thing is clear—this is a major blow to legacy media’s biased reporting and a win for the American people!
