Vice President JD Vance plans to honor Charlie Kirk later this month by taking questions from college students.
Vance, who was a close friend of Charlie Kirk, said Wednesday he would speak at a Turning Point USA event on Oct. 29 at the University of Mississippi. He will appear alongside Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, the new Turning Point CEO.
“I’m going to do exactly what Charlie did,” the vice president said, as he appearing live on “The Charlie Kirk Show” from the White House campus. “My plan is to give a little speech, talk about the issues of the day, but turn most of it over to just do Q&A with the audience. I want to hear from these kids, I want to answer questions from them.”
“He would answer tough questions from the left and from the right, and so I want to do that too,” Vance said.
“Part of keeping Charlie’s memory alive is keeping the mission alive,” the vice president said. “Nobody can replace Charlie, but if we all take little pieces, we can do as much as we can to ensure that Charlie’s mission continues to survive long after he’s gone.”
Well managed Q&A sessions are great for uncovering assumptions and logical inconsistencies. By inviting dialogue, it builds trust and understanding!
On Tuesday, President Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country’s top civilian honor, to Charlie Kirk. Erika Kirk accepted the award on his behalf.
