Certain media outlets have recently reported that Trump’s Department of Justice is seeking the voter registration lists of Pennsylvania and several other states, they’re also looking to inspect voting equipment in certain states. At least nine states have reportedly received requests for information. The DOJ has sent letters to Alaska, Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and a request to Colorado.
These actions are clearly a result of Trump’s executive order signed a few months ago calling for a widespread overhaul of federal elections by requiring proof of citizenship to vote and that all mail ballots be received by Election Day. It seems Trump is also trying to ensure the fairness of the upcoming midterm elections.
Of course, those who oppose Trump and his executive order are pushing back, some claiming they have real concerns about how the Trump administration plans to use the information.
The reality is that to ensure fair elections Trump must take action to make sure that only American citizens decide American elections!
