This past Monday, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania struck down a bid by Democratic officials to count illegal ballots in the 2024 US Senate race. Almost two weeks after the election, Sen. Bob Casey had still refused to concede to Republican projected winner Dave McCormick.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) and Republican Party of Pennsylvania appealed to the justices to block the counting of undated ballots in all of the state’s 67 counties. “The Pennsylvania Supreme Court rightfully struck down the flagrantly lawless campaign by Bob Casey and his lawyer,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesman Philip Letsou.
Finally, on Thursday, Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. Bob Casey conceded the race to Republican candidate Dave McCormick, putting an end to the lengthy automatic recount. Sen. Bob Casey later called Dave McCormick to congratulate him.
