As Kamala steps in, Republicans look to blame Harris for the Biden administration’s woes at the U.S. Mexico border, where American officials have recorded record numbers of illegal border crossings in the last three years. Harris could face even more criticism over the Biden administration’s record on immigration, where she played a big role. Biden gave Harris the role of finding the root causes of migration from certain South American countries.
Harris says her role was to reduce migration by improving conditions in migrant’s home countries. Even if that were the case, record numbers of illegal border crossings over the last three years show the American people that she didn’t do well when it comes to immigration and protecting the border. Of course, Harris will now try to take credit for those illegal crossing numbers getting better this past year since Biden issued an executive order banning most migrants from asylum only a few months ago.
In reality, Biden and Harris flooded the country with illegals until it was close to election time, then Biden signed an order to stop the crossings so he could brag about doing a great job of “fighting illegal immigration.”
