States passed sweeping legislation to legally define race. For example, Virginia passed the Racial Integrity Act of 1924 under Democrat lawmakers and state officials, it legally classified anyone with any Black ancestry as “colored.”
These laws that were intended to separate races and maintain “white racial purity” were struck down and done away with by the Supreme Court on June 12, 1967.
These racially discriminating thought processes should be a thing of the past but unfortunately that’s not the case, they’re thriving today and being pushed by the same party that put them into place decades ago.
Identity politics is a commonly used political strategy for the Democratic Party; they use it to mobilize a “marginalized” voting group. So, the more people the left can get to self-identify as black, the more votes they can potentially get.
