U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds recently won Florida’s Republican primary, and right away many left-wing media platforms came out to do damage control. The win by Donalds, who is black and in a southern state, goes directly against the Democrat narrative that “Republicans are white and racist.”
Many on the Left tried to spin a racial narrative that Donalds underperformed in some of the “whitest” counties in northern Florida because of the demographics of those counties. Many in the Left-wing media don’t want the rest of the nation to know that a lot of white voters came out to vote for Donalds over a white opponent.
The Left doesn’t want people to know that Donalds was also running against an opponent that was the 21st lieutenant governor of Florida and a strong ally of Ron DeSantis, he was also a military veteran.
The Left doesn’t want people to know that Florida is only 17% black and that Donalds didn’t need to win a majority of counties because statewide primary elections in Florida are decided by a total vote count. Those facts are not being mentioned because they don’t help the Democrats with their ongoing “Republicans are racist” narrative.
