The 2026 Patriot Games is a nationally televised American athletic competition created by the Trump administration for the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations. The games were held from August 9–11, 2026. The event featured one male and one female athlete representing every U.S. state. The athletes competed for college scholarships awarded directly from the president. The games aired Thursday night on ABC.
Right on cue, critics of President Trump and his administration came out to bash the event. Many in the liberal media argued the event didn’t have enough diversity and that the event was too much like a political rally. They also questioned the selection process for the athletes. One CNN anchor criticized the Patriot Games for being “overwhelmingly white.”
The Left complaining about lack of diversity, or that an event is too political, is funny considering almost everything they’re connected to is anything but diverse and is almost always political, especially when it comes to race. Leftists have almost ruined American sports for many people because of their social justice slogans and views on race being forced into sports leagues like the NFL and NBA. Even though it has gotten somewhat better, as early as this year, the NBA still mandated players to wear slogans about race on the warm-ups during a certain month of the season.
