California Gov. Gavin Newsom seems to think President Trump might be serious about running in 2028. “I have two dozen ‘Trump 2028’ hats his folks keep sending me,” Newsom said.
“People actually think this guy’s serious about having another election? You think he’s joking about 2028? You think when he brings foreign leaders to the Oval Office, and he goes to the White House store — have you seen this? Anyone? Is it just me? — and he shows ’em the 2028 hats? He’s not being serious? Wake up. You will lose your country.”
Newsom, who many believe will be a Democrat presidential candidate for 2028, has recently clashed publicly with Trump over immigration protests in California. He has also drawn the president’s disapproval over a plan to redraw California congressional lines in response to redistricting in Texas. Trump has promised a lawsuit against California to stop the plan.
Newsom, along with other Democrats, have repeatedly pushed the idea that Trump is a threat to democracy. They will push that narrative even more now with The Trump Organization selling more “Trump 2028” hats!
